Are you a serving officer looking for first rate, affordable
medical cover? Then look no further!
Off Duty has joined forces with West Midlands Police's
Medical Scheme ("WMP"), to provide the exceptional value
of "WMP" to all serving officers (and their families)
across Great Britain.
The WMP Medical Scheme was initially set up for serving
West Midlands Police Officers in 1979 and a short time
later extended to continue through retirement. Over
the years membership has been extended to partners and
children up to 18 years of age, and also to civilian
support staff and their families. Recently children
over 18 years can become full members in their own right.
The scheme has now been extended to cover officers
(and their families) throughout Great Britain, not just
in West Midlands.
The main aim of the scheme remains the provision of
healthcare, which is not readily available on the NHS.
Private inpatient treatment can now be authorised just
2 days after receiving a completed claim form.
What is more important to you than your health and
that of your family? No-one can guarantee good health,
but in case you become ill, it is very important to
know that the best possible medical attention will be
available without delay. Regrettably while there is
little doubt about the quality of NHS care, it is not
available when you need it. Also you can find your pay
reduced to half or nothing after 6 or 12 months, so
early treatment can be essential.
Benefits of the medical scheme include:
- Direct access to top specialists.
- Access to the first class facilities available at
Nuffield Hospitals throughout the UK.
- Generous cover for out-patient treatment, including
physio, chiropractic, and osteopathic treatment.
- Generous cover for diagnostic tests.
- Family cover includes all children.
The above is only a summary of the benefits provided
by the WMP Medical Scheme.
How do I join, or find out more? If you are a member
of a police force from England, Scotland or Wales (other
than West Midlands Police) then you need to complete
an Application Form and a Direct Debit Mandate Form.
